It has been an eventful and exciting year for the BCFA as we continued to host our popular networking events, as well as seeing our members showcase some of their best products and inventive ideas at our BCFA Open exhibitions held in London, Manchester, and Dublin.
With more opportunities for our members to get involved in, and a developing association, this year has given us the chance to experiment with creative innovative ideas to help us grow and understand members’ wants and needs.
Our sell-out event of the year, the Annual Luncheon held at the Dorchester in November, was as successful as ever with no signs of slowing down. This year the choice of venues for our events were as stunning and unique as ever, including eating under a plane at the Museum of Science and Industry for our Northern Dinner, a rooftop BBQ at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester, and a networking event at the stunning Laurent Perrier Room in Birmingham. Our networking events are a great benefit to membership and we look forward to hosting them again during 2018.
As well as our own events, the BCFA also attend and exhibit at events across the UK and internationally to support members. Our biggest success this year includes the likes of Sleep, where an incredible 48 BCFA members were exhibiting! It’s great to have so many members in one place as it gives our marketing team the opportunity to capture some of the great products on film, and hold Q&As. Promotional material for our events and exhibitions is supported by Design Insider Live, our online marketing magazine.
The BCFA are also known for our export opportunities, helping members and other British companies to expand their markets internationally. This year, BDNY was a remarkable success, as there were 10 BCFA members exhibiting and keeping the team out in New York very busy. We continued our success in the UAE market at Index Dubai and Hotel Show Dubai. This year, UK India Business Council (UKIBC) and the BCFA hosted a seminar on the topic of ‘Opening up New Markets in India.’ The event was a great success with some positive feedback and we will be looking to hold more export knowledge-based events during 2018.
This year our membership has grown with some fantastic new names, the latest being Romo, market leader in designer fabrics and wallcoverings. We look forward to working and engaging with our members during 2018 to continue creating opportunities.
From everyone at the BCFA, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
