Pattern Power

The overarching ethos in care homes is that they are places where elderly people, some with with complex health needs, live. It is their home, and quality of life matters.

There are approximately 416,000 people living in care homes (Laing and Buisson survey 2016) and with some fees being in excess of £1,000 a week, residential homes or care facilities now have to provide quality care in surroundings more redolent to hotels than what many would consider a ‘traditional’ care home.

Danfloor UK are specialist manufacturers and suppliers of commercial carpets and supply floor finishes into the Healthcare Sector.

“Over the years we have seen an increase in considered design for the care sector,” explained Catherine Helliker, Marketing Manager at danfloor. “The look and quality of product being supplied into care homes is now similar to the hospitality sector. The designers we work with have been looking for a greater choice of patterned carpets to enhance their design schemes for a number of years, which is why we have launched the new Evolution Collection.”

Evolution is a stunning new collection of patterned carpets consisting of six designs aptly entitled Origin, Glaze, Manhattan, Forest, Geo Form and Scape. Manufactured using new innovative tufting technology and incorporating Aquafil’s Econyl 100% regenerated nylon yarn, the Evolution Collection not only has outstanding performance features but also has a strong environmental focus, making it ideal for a number of sectors including the healthcare market.
